It was with a mix of excitement and trepidation that the Gosford U16 Girls travelled to Welwyn for the first knockout stage of the nation cup. Despite the teams best efforts the game did not go as planned. The team fought for the entire 80 minutes against a very well drilled and dominant Welwyn.
Welwyn took an early lead but missed the conversion (5-0). Gosford responded shortly after with a try from Eve and a conversion from Lucie bringing the score to (5-7). This lead was short lived as Welwyn capitalised on Gosford mistakes with the half time score being (29-7)
In the second half opened well for Gosford with Monica scoring a try after a sustained period of attack but unfortunately the first half outcome was repeated in the second half with the final score of (54-12).
